Read on each marketplace’s own help page on October 18, 2026. Marketplaces change their rules without telling anyone, so follow the link if it matters.

Poshmark

Shape	Square images are recommended (Poshmark’s Bulk Upload guide).
File types	JPEG, JPG and PNG are accepted for Bulk Upload.
How many	A Covershot plus up to 15 more images per listing in Bulk Upload. Poshmark suggests at least 4 images per item.
Covershot	Your main photo. Not a generic image, graphic or illustration, and no border or watermark.
Flaws	Include photos of any damage, excessive wear or stains.
Pixel size	Not stated on Poshmark’s help pages.

Depop

How many	Up to four photos and one video in the app; up to eight photos when you list on Depop.com.
Flaws	Include plenty of photos, especially of any flaws buyers should know about.

Mercari (US)

How many	Up to 12 photos per listing.
Background	Plain backgrounds work best, in natural light so the colour is exact.
First photo	It’s the first thing shoppers see. You can reorder photos at any time.
Flaws	Photograph every side, and any flaws.
Pixel size	Not stated on Mercari’s help pages.

Vinted

How many	Up to 20 photos per listing.
First photo	Shows the entire item. No collages.
Your own	No stock or watermarked images, or pictures found online.
Colour	Natural daylight over lamplight, and no flash or filters.
Details	Close-ups of labels, logos, care tags and any defects. For well-known brands, details that show the item is authentic.
Pixel size	Not stated on Vinted’s help pages.
