Privacy policy
Draft for review. This page hasn’t been checked by a lawyer yet and isn’t in effect.

PicDad (“we”) runs picdad.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use PicDad, why, and your choices. Questions or requests: our contact form.
Your photos
Previews, ordinary edits and downloads happen on your device. Your work in progress is saved in this browser’s storage; clearing site data removes it. Format conversion and compression keep the photo as photographed and do not send it for background removal.
When you remove a background, a resized copy goes to our server and GPU provider (Modal), which return the product outline. AI removal, extension, upscaling and relighting also send the required photo and edit to Modal. These processing requests are handled in memory and are not saved as listings by PicDad. Generating a scene sends your description rather than the product photo.
On paid plans, saving a listing also stores its photos, cut-outs, generated scenes and settings privately in your account, in Supabase Storage. This is separate from temporary processing. Saved account listings remain available to open or delete after downgrading; new saves no longer sync.
If you send a listing to a connected marketplace, its rendered photos are temporarily stored in Supabase so the marketplace can fetch them. Their download links expire after seven days; daily cleanup normally removes the staging copies within the next day. The marketplace keeps its own copy under its policies.
If you ask PicDad to write your listing text, up to four of the listing’s photos (resized) and any notes you add are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the text. PicDad doesn’t store them; Anthropic handles them under its commercial terms for API customers.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and your Google name and picture if you sign in with Google. We use it to sign you in and to contact you about your account.
- Plan and usage: your plan, its status, and how many photos and AI credits you used each month, so we can apply your plan’s limits.
- Synced listings (paid plans): when you save a listing, its photos, cut-outs, generated scenes and settings are stored in your account (Supabase Storage, private to you) so you can open it on your other devices. Deleting the listing, or your account, removes them.
- Connected marketplaces (paid plans): if you connect Shopify, Etsy or eBay, we keep that marketplace’s access tokens (encrypted) and your shop’s name, so we can send listings there when you ask. A listing you send (photos, title, description, price and the details you choose) goes to that marketplace, under its own privacy policy. Disconnect any time on your account page.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
- Without an account: a random ID in a cookie and your IP address, to count your first 3 free photos and your free AI try, and to limit misuse.
- Security and errors: IP addresses and technical details of requests, to stop automated abuse and fix errors.
- Analytics: anonymous page and feature counts (Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookies), and Google Analytics only if you accept it.

- Temporary background-removal and AI processing: not saved as listings by PicDad.
- Rate-limit and free-photo counters: up to about a month.
- Synced listings: until you delete them or your account.
- Marketplace upload copies: normally up to eight days. Replaced or abandoned listing files are normally cleaned up within two days. Upload links can remain usable for two hours; deletion is checked again after they expire, normally within two days of your request.
- Account, plan and usage: while you have an account. Deleting your account (on your account page) removes them at once.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires, at Stripe and in our accounts.
